My Side of our Love Story - How we began

Our story began 7 years and 2 months ago (as of writing) - to be exact. We can be called as college sweethearts, but we are not the ordinary ones. I never thought that I would find somebody like him nor I would think that we would be together.

Back in college, Louie was the "life-of-the-party", whether our orgmates like it or not. He would crack jokes that everyone dislike. Some would laugh, others - like me - would simply brush it off and move on. He was also the go-to-buddy by our org band, he was the org band leader after all.

2005. I was a new member of the org that time. Louie was the head of the band and he wanted every new member to participate in one of the org events. He asked us - with one of my batchmates - to play for the band. He was the guitarist, I played the bongos (may konti naman akong alam na percussion). That is our first interaction (aside from the jokes) ever. And our first song - Torete.

2006. I was having my personal ups-and-downs and my organization was my go-to place. We never had that deep conversations, Louie was the joker and I would personally do not take him seriously. Sometime in August, while everyone in our org was busy with our anniversary month, we were at our tambayan and suddenly he held my hand - nang walang dahilan. Since I don't take it personally, madalas naman, close talaga ako sa mga lalaki and nasanay na ako sa touchy-touchy gestures ng orgmates namin, so I brushed it off. Minsan pa yang nakitulog sa boarding house namin, just like some of our friends, so wala lang sa akin.

Few months after, October 2006, we started to text over the sembreak. Walang magawa at uso pa noon ang textmates. By the end of the month, we started to ask each other kung kumain na ba, ano nang ginagawa. It was an ordinary sembreak, wala namang malisya para sa akin ang texts namin. Honestly, I don't remember if he asked kung kami na ba, all I remember is I gambled for it.

November 2006. I was transferring to another college unit then, so I have to undergo with the application process. I gambled with him, if I passed, then we will officially be a couple. Results came in on November 5th, I am in a new college, new life and by the end of the day, I got myself a boyfriend! But our official anniversary was November 8th, without no reason, wala lang - it felt like 8 is a lucky number and it symbolizes infinity.

We never told anyone, just non-verbal cues when we are together in our tambayan. Hi and hello, we never leave the tambayan together not arrive together. We are still textmates, mas madalas nga lang syang sumama na sa boarding house namin. But since malakas makiramdam ang orgmates namin, we confirmed our relationship a week after. Marami ang nagtatanong sa akin, "bakit?", and hanggang ngayon, as engaged couple,  dumami pa ata  nagtanong sa akin kung bakit ako pumayag. :)

7 years after, 5 years of which is on long distance relationship, here we are, getting married this year. It was not an easy relationship - we have spent 3 anniversaries together, our first anniversary na may sakit pa sya, the second one was in 2012 just when he did a short vacation for his sister's wedding and last when we got engaged in 2013. Monthsaries passed just like an ordinary day, except those were the special days that I can buy myself a cake to celebrate.

I believe, we are not the ordinary couple - walang ligawan, walang matinong anniversary. It was good though, it always feel like nasa ligawan stage pa din kami every day. I knew him by staying with him, walang superficial na ginagawa, as he is normally.  It was never easy and it never will, and for sure, our lives are beyond ordinary.

And up until now, he never answered why did he ever hold my hand seven years back.

Still asking myself how and why,

Deng

Welcome to our Wedding Site!

In behalf of Louie, I would like to thank you for visiting our site and we are excited to share our wedding details, adventures and stories as we prepare for our new life as husband and wife. :)

I have been blogging for the past 2 years, and they are mostly on travels and personal adventures and I believe, I been helping a lot of my readers (and stumblers) based on my own experiences.

The wedding is once in a lifetime adventure. It would a long, withstanding and oftentimes, crazy planning from the day my fiance proposed until we will walk down the aisle and probably, months after for suppliers reviews. :)

For the next few months, we will share with you our own adventures on this wedding, send over some tips, take some pictures and for some, give inspirations to those who are not only engaged but to those who are in love and starting to see themselves settling down.

With this new blog (baby) of mine (mostly likely, I will maintain this), I might take a break from my travel blog, and be busy with my entries here. I have few more adventures to write over there - my Malaysia, Singapore and Japan trips last year, so I will have to finish them as well (crossing my fingers, within the first quarter of the year).

Happy preparations to us! :)

Still contemplating on my 2 blogs,
